Minston’s Catering. A full service catering affair.

Staff, china and glassware.

The part of an event that is invisible when it goes right. Our customers write to us about the staff more often than the food, which tells you where the work goes.

Server or bartender
$225 for 4 hours, then $40/hour
Chef carving and plating
$300 for 4 hours, then $80/hour
China package
$5 a head
Barware
$1 a glass

Servers set up, serve, clear and leave a venue as they found it. Bartenders run anything from beer and wine to a full bar. Both are booked in four-hour blocks with a stated hourly rate beyond that, and any additional hours are charged the following day rather than argued about on the night.

The china package covers dinner and salad or dessert plates, forks, spoons, knives and water glasses at $5 a head. Barware is priced per glass and comes in water, highball, white and red wine, champagne and pilsner. Tablecloths are $25 a table with colour and size options.

Booking staff and rentals with the food means one supplier, one delivery and one invoice, instead of coordinating a rental company against a caterer against a bar service.

Questions we get asked.

How many servers do we need?
It depends on the guest count and whether you are plated or buffet. Tell us both and we will tell you, rather than selling you staff you do not need.
How far ahead do you need to book staff?
Seven days is the minimum the site enforces, because people have to be rostered. In practice, earlier is better for a weekend.
Can we hire staff without ordering food?
Ask us. Staffing normally comes alongside catering, but tell us what you are planning and we will say whether we can help.
What happens if the event runs long?
Servers and bartenders are $40 an hour beyond the first four, and chef carving is $80. Additional hours are charged the following day.
